Spanish I
Spanish I is a year-long introductory course in spoken and written Spanish in which students begin the study of vocabulary and grammar that comprise the language. Cultural information is provided where appropriate to enhance concepts being taught. Grammar topics for the year move from the present tense to the preterite tense, covering main concepts related to the two tenses including, but not limited to: articles, adjectives, ser, estar, stem-changers, and reflexive pronouns.
Spanish II
Spanish II is a year-long intermediate course in spoken and written Spanish in which students further the study of vocabulary and grammar that comprise the language. Cultural information is provided where appropriate to enhance concepts being taught. Grammar topics for the year begin with a review of Spanish I, quickly moving into, but not limited to: the imperfect tense, the difference between the preterit and imperfect tense, the future tense, the conditional tense, and commands.
Spanish III
Spanish III is a year-long upper intermediate course that focuses on upper level topics. Students refine the study of vocabulary and grammar that comprise the Spanish language. Substantial review of previously learned topics in Spanish is also included. A central part of the course is the variety of Spanish literary materials that reinforce grammar and bring culture to life. Major grammar topics for the year include the subjunctive tense and the pluperfect tense.
