Congratulations to our new student leaders! Advisor Mrs. Lagarde officially recognized our newly elected Student Council members after Chapel today. Congratulations as well to all of our candidates who campaigned, put up signs, and gave speeches prior to voting! Great job, Gryphons! Students in Mr. Artiz's World Geography class recently participated in a debate on "delsalination: its benefits and problems." Is desalination an answer to more freshwater consumption, at the cost of harming ocean and sea marine life? Great job, Gryphons! Congratulations to Coach Loughmiller and our Lady Gryphons as they won their game against the Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge recently! Geaux Gryphons! Many thanks to representatives from the University of New Orleans and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for taking time to visit with our students during lunch recently. Our students learned move about degree programs, extracurriculars, career goals, and housing! Lutheran High celebrates Welcome Week! An annual tradition to welcome our new and returning Gryphons to the new school year, Welcome Week fosters school community and school spirit. The activities included team bunco competitions, make your own banana splits, lunchtime cupcake decorating, and a faculty fun fact scavenger hunt. Welcome Week culminated with a school wide special lunch, an "Anything but a Backpack" competition, and an afternoon of activities and competitive games. Many thanks to Ms. Mitzi Loughmiller for coordinating Welcome Week! |
