Students in Mrs. Lagarde's art classes, accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde and Mr. Brackvitch, joined creative forces with renowned local artist Josh Wingerter at his Westwego Art Center. Students toured the gallery and studio space, as well as the art house, a casual funky space that draws inspiration from street art. After the tour, Josh and fellow artist Dago provided tarps, canvases, paint supplies and encouraged students to unleash their creative spirit. Heartfelt thanks to Josh Wingerter Art Gallery for hosting our students! #creativegryphons Lutheran High celebrates International Day! In preparation for this school-wide event, students in Mr. Artiz's Spanish and Social Studies classes worked in groups to research various countries' languages, histories, climates, and cultures. On the event day, groups showcased their research with colorful display boards, wore traditional dress, and offered food unique to that country. Faculty and students enjoyed "stamping their passports" and visiting the countries on display. Excellent job, Gryphons! LHS was blessed to have visitors from Austin, TX and Concordia University! These guests chose to spend their Spring Break volunteering in the New Orleans area! Be sure to check out the fresh coat of paint on what we affectionately call our "3rd Building!" These volunteers also shared a chapel message with us based on Isaiah 40:28-31. Our Alumni Grill Crew joined the fun and shared cheeseburgers and fries with our visitors and students! #ctxcampusministry #ctxgomissions #onceagryphonalwaysagryphon |
