On Friday, May 6th, students in American History class accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde and Mr. Brackvitch toured the World War II Museum, viewed the interactive movie, "Beyond All Boundaries", visited the lobby of the Higgins Hotel, and enjoyed lunch at Magazine Pizza. Students were also privileged to meet a member of the WWII Orphans Network who shared his personal story of how he lost his dad during the war. He reminded our students that "freedom is not free". Lutheran High School celebrated their Junior and Senior prom on Saturday, April 30th at Lakeside Country Club in Metairie. The theme was "Unmask the Night" and many students wore masks to complement their formal attire. All Hail Prom King Derrick Augustin, Prom Queen La'shai Washington, Prince Jakhai Pugh, and Princess Genesis Argenal! On Wednesday, May 4th, students, faculty, and family were treated to the musical stylings of the Lutheran High Choir at their Spring Concert at First English Lutheran Church. Congratulations to our choir members and Mr. Scriber. What a wonderful way to close out our school day! Fabulous job, Gryphons! Seniors Jayla Washington, La'shai Washington, and Jeaneeva Carruth celebrated their final choir concert. Thank you for sharing your musical gifts over your high school career! Today we celebrated our Class of 2022 at their last whole school Chapel service. Mr. Scriber shared the promises that God makes to all of his children of unconditional love as our seniors prepare to embark on a new phase of their personal and spiritual journey. The Lutheran High Choir invited members of the senior class to join them as "honorary" members as we closed out our Senior Chapel with a song. Many thanks to Ms. Loughmilller, Mr. Scriber, and the LHS Choir! Congratulations Class of 2022! |
