Our junior class gathered for the annual Junior Ring Ceremony held at First English Lutheran Church. This special tradition marks their transition into the school leaders and rising seniors of Lutheran High School. Surrounded by family, friends, and faculty, students received their class rings and certificates—symbols of their hard work, dedication, and the lasting bond they share with the Lutheran High family. A special thank you to Reverend Aubrey Watson, Jr., Holy Cross Lutheran Church, for blessing the rings and sharing an inspiring message about leadership, faith, and unity. Thank you to the LHS Choir for sharing their vocal talents. As always, thank you to First English Church for sharing their beautiful facility with us. After the ceremony, the Class of 2027 and their families celebrated with light refreshments provided by the school. We are so incredibly proud of these students and can’t wait to see how God uses their leadership to impact our campus next year! On Saturday, May 16th, the Lutheran High School community gathered at the Williams Boulevard Baptist Church in joyful celebration to welcome its newest alumni at their Commencement Ceremony. The morning was highlighted by inspiring addresses from both distinguished alumni and outstanding student leaders: Mr. Tyrone Tedesco, Class of 1979, delivered the graduation address. He reminded the graduates that a small school does not mean a small future, encouraging them to leverage the close-knit foundation they built at Lutheran High to serve as a powerful launching pad for greatness. Miss Audria Kleyle took the stage to deliver the salutatorian address, reflecting on the shared memories, challenges overcome, and the tight bonds formed by the Class of 2026. In her valedictory address, Miss Frimpoma Anim beautifully compared the graduating class to a puzzle, observing that by weaving their lives together, they had "made such a meaningful impact on each other and created a beautiful picture." Drawing strength from the class Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, she left her peers with a powerful reminder of faith and purpose, concluding: "The Lord has a plan for every single one of us, and I can't wait to see the outcome!" Congratulations to the spectacular Class of 2026! We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished, and we cannot wait to see how you change the world. Once a Gryphon, always a Gryphon! As graduation drew near, the seniors marked major milestones, pausing to reflect on their journey together. They gathered with the student body for Senior Chapel to hear an inspiring message from Mr. Scriber, and later came together for the Baccalaureate ceremony, where Pastor Nare shared a heartfelt message about faith and the future. Afterward, the atmosphere turned celebratory as the seniors were honored for their diverse talents and achievements, receiving academic, athletic, "Senior Favorites," and various other awards that highlighted the unique impact of the Class of 2026. Congratulations, Gryphons! As part of their year-end project, the LHS Physics class demonstrated their skills in a bridge building and breaking contest. Each bridge had its own unique design and structure. Epiphany Fraino's bridge was the most efficient and held the most weight at 78 lbs. The other class members were Navin Miranda, Emma Nixon, and Logan Peters. Great job Gryphons! The LHS Student Council Week was one for the books! We appreciate the creativity and Gryphon spirit reflected in the costume choices for our dress-up days! Dress-up days included: White Lie Day, Twin Day, Country vs. Country Club, Character Day, and LHS Spirit Day. We finished the week with the Alumni Grill Crew’s famous fried chicken fingers and fries, then enjoyed outdoor activities such as flag football, cornhole, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, donut on a string, and relays. The day ended with a cold, sweet treat - ice cream sundaes! Thank you to our Alumni Grill Crew for sharing your love for LuHigh by cooking such a delicious meal, and to our fabulous faculty for helping make the week a success! Our 8th-grade class celebrated Student Council Week’s dress down “Twin Day” in style by taking their learning to the coast! They visited the historic Louisiana New Canal Lighthouse for an unforgettable field trip. Many thanks to the Pontchartrain Conservancy for leading an incredible hands-on workshop. Our students dove deep into the science of water quality and the challenges surrounding coastal land loss in Louisiana, while brainstorming real-world solutions. After the workshop, our 8th-grade Gryphons enjoyed a picnic by the lake to soak in the views of Lake Pontchartrain. Special thanks to the field trip advisors, Ms. Able and Mr. Scriber, for helping make this day of learning and fun possible! Mrs. Hernandez and Mrs. Lagarde accompanied our State Rally qualifiers to LSU where more than 4,000 students from over 350 schools across Louisiana participated in the 2026 State Rally after advancing from their District Rally. We appreciate our students giving up their Saturday morning to represent Lutheran High! Great job, Gryphons! Congratulations to the newest members of the Lutheran High Chapters of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society! On March 26th, Mrs. Lagarde inducted students into these prestigious organizations before their peers and families. Thank you to Mr. Scriber and the LHS Choir for opening our programs with a beautiful song, and to the members of our faculty who participated in the induction ceremonies. Wonderful job, Gryphons! |
