Lutheran High celebrated Student Council Week with dress-up days, a special lunch, and outdoor fun! Dress-up days included Anything but a Backpack, Decades Day, Pajama Day, Duo Day, and Minions Day. Outdoor activities included a family feud tournament, a friendly football game, and relays. Participants enjoyed an ice cream treat to wrap up the week. Many thanks to our student leaders for coordinating and serving lunch, and to the faculty for their help and participation in the fun! Special thanks to Mr. Hernandez for cooking the delicious jambalaya! So much beauty blooming in our art room! This week, Mrs. Lagarde's talented art students celebrated the arrival of spring and the Easter holiday by crafting these faux stained glass "windows." It's incredible to see how they've transformed simple materials into vibrant works of art. Senior students, accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde, participated in the Delgado Community College Spring Admissions Expo. Students learned about the many academic and career programs offered at Delgado and enjoyed many interesting hands on learning opportunities. Many thanks to the Delgado's faculty and staff for hosting. Lutheran High junior and senior students, accompanied by Ms. Loughmiller and Mrs. Lagarde, traveled to Baton Rouge to compete at the State Literary Rally hosted by LSU. In recent years, more than 4,000 students from over 350 schools have participated in State Rally after advancing from their District Rally The Gryphon Gala XLVII brought the heart and soul of New Orleans to Copeland Towers with the theme: "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans." Guests enjoyed a silent & live auction, delicious buffet, and live music that transported attendees straight to the French Quarter. All proceeds benefit Lutheran High. Many thanks to the hard work of the Gala Committee, the adult and student volunteers, our outstanding alums, and Gryphon families for supporting this fantastic event. To celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) students enjoyed a special lunch prepared by the Service Club followed by friendly class competitions in the NLSW Heptathlon. This year's theme is "Endure" - Hebrews 12:1 - 3 Let us run with Endurance the RACE that is set before us... Students from Mr. Ferguson's Intro to Engineering class, Mr. Scriber's Physics class, and Ms. Loughmiller's Dual Enrollment math class enjoyed exploring exhibits and demonstrations at UNO's Engineering Day. We are fortunate to have so many Lutheran pastors who are willing to share their time with us and lead our weekly chapel service! Joining us from New Orleans were Reverend Sukstorf from St. John Lutheran Church, Reverend Sylvester from Bethel Lutheran Church and Reverend Terry from Bethel Lutheran Church. Thanks for your messages that reminded all of us how blessed we are! |
