LHS Art Students create pop art with Josh Wingerter

11/3/2022

LuHigh students in Mrs. Lagarde's art classes, co-chaperoned by Ms. Loughmiller, tapped into their inner creativity under the direction of internationally renowned artist Josh Wingerter at his Westwego studio recently.  Many thanks to Josh and Maria for the tour of the amazing studio, sharing your art processes and philosophy, and allowing our students to take part in such a memorable and inspiring creative endeavor with you both! The students love and appreciate their custom spray can gift! What an honor!  Afterwards, students enjoyed lunch at the popular and delicious Mo's Pizza. Thank you Alexis Arcemont (💍Joey Marraccoli, LHS alum) for the VIP treatment at Mo's! #CreativeGryphons #joshwingerterart #MosPizza

Gryphons Serving in the Community

11/3/2022

The Gryphons were in action serving the community recently!  Twenty Gryphons under the supervision of Ms. Loughmiller and Mr. Scriber assisted with games, Halloween face tattoos and more at St. John Lutheran Church and School's Trick-or-Trunk event.  Early on a Saturday morning two Gryphon seniors and Ms. Loughmiller put their gardening skills to work at Mount Olive Lutheran Church's workday!  Love, Honor, Serve!

What makes a hero?

11/3/2022

Students in Mr. Brackvitch's English classes decorated swords using a word or phrase that they felt was a defining trait of heroism. This activity served as a segway from a unit on the Hero's Journey to a poetry unit on Poetic Heroes. Wonderful job, Gryphons! #CreativeGryphons

LHS Lady Gryphons THinK PINK Win in a season Closer against Varnado!

11/3/2022

Think Pink!  What a way to end our return to the volleyball court in 2022!  Volleyball players led chapel recently with a skit about the "Fruit of the Spirit" and then finished their day on the court!  With fans cheering loudly from the stands, the Gryphons won an exciting match (3-1) over district opponent Varnado! Congratulations Coach Loughmiller and Lady Gryphons! #thinkpink2022 #beatcancer #GeauxGryphons
