welcome Lutheran High's Newest Alumni

     Lutheran High School’s 2024 Commencement was held at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church. At Lutheran High School (LHS) students are encouraged to Love, Honor and Serve others in their communities while using Christ as an example Kim Jovanovich, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Orleans and well known in the Lutheran community as a gifted organist and the director of an instrumental ensemble known as the Marigny Pops, addressed the graduates. He expanded on the Love, Honor, Serve theme by challenging the graduates to “Learn something new every day and to practice Humility. Combining all of these traits can lead to Success and you have the opportunity with hard work to BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE,” said Jovanovich. 
     Madeline Tabora, daughter of Mrs. Ann-Marie Tabora and Mr. Marlon Tabora, Jr., gave the valedictory address.  A life-long resident of Metairie, Louisiana, Madeline plans to attend Loyola University in the fall. 
     Fourteen students made up the LHS Class of 2024.  Graduates were awarded a combined total of $396,500 in individual college scholarships. Diplomas were presented to the graduates by Nancy Hernandez, Principal, and Leonard T. Lewis, III, Board of Directors. The following students graduated with Honors:  Yazan Ghezlan, Aseel Ottallah, and Madeline Tabora. 
     The Lutheran High School Class of 2024:  Melissa Jenae’ Brown, Michaiah Ariel Cutino, 
Heaven Ronjanae Fazande, Dawayne Dajaun Damyrrius Ferguson, Peyton Patrick Fremin, Yazan Ghezlan, Luna Maria Lagos, Isabella Claire Naquin, Aseel Riyad Ottallah, Elisha Kenshia Jude Parker, IV, Dajuan Joseph Smith, Dewitt Maurice Solomon, Jr., Madeline Claire Tabora, Joanna Elizabeth Villalva. 
     The following students received senior awards at the graduation ceremony:  Heaven Fazande, Student Council Award and the Leadership Award; Yazan Ghezlan, the Scholar-Athlete Award; Michaiah Cutino, the Love, Honor, Serve Award; Dawayne Ferguson, the Love, Honor, Serve Award; and Luna Lagos, the Daughters of the American Revolution – DAR Youth Citizenship Award.
