Junior students, accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde and Mr. Scriber, toured Nicholls University to learn more about the many opportunities and degree programs available. Thank you to Kirsten Hill for the wonderful tour and admissions presentation. We also met a recent LHS alum on his way to class at Nicholls. After a taste of college life at the student dining hall, students enjoyed a VIP interactive tour of the mass communications department. Students were on the news, live on the radio, learned about student journalism, and even "flew" a drone. Thank you to Professor Lance Arnold and staff for making our visit so fun and memorable! In celebration of Black History Month, students in Mrs. Lagarde's art classes learned more about Jean-Michel Basquiat, a modern neoexpressionist artist. Basquiat's artwork dealt with themes of racism, classism, and other power structures and their effects on U.S. society. Students created their own works inspired by Basquiat. Great job, Gyphons! |
