Bridges needed to meet strict building materials criteria and be able to hold weight without breaking. The winning bridge held 58 lbs, the runner-up held 53 lbs, followed by bridges holding 48 and 13 lbs respectively. Awesome job, Gryphons! Students in American History class, accompanied by Mr. Brackvitch and Mrs. Lagarde, toured the world renowned World War II Museum on Friday, April 28th. Students explored the museum and experienced the interactive film, Beyond All Boundaries. Students also checked out the lobby of the Higgins Hotel, the official hotel of the WW II Museum. The hotel is named after Andrew Higgins, who designed and built over 20,000 boats in New Orleans that were used in every major amphibious assault of World War II. Afterwards, students enjoyed lunch at Magazine Pizza near the museum. LHS students and faculty celebrated Student Council Week April 17th - 21st with dress-down days and our annual Crawfish Boil! Themed dress-down days included Character Day, Country vs. Country Club, Surfer vs. Biker, and Career Day!
