On Friday, December 6th, students and faculty celebrated a Merry Gryphon Christmas! Sponsored by the Student Council and the Service Club, students wore their most festive attire for the day and enjoyed a day of holiday cheer. Our celebration began with a special lunch provided by the Alumni Grill Crew. After lunch, students enjoyed hot cocoa, sweet treats, and fun activities such as BINGO (with prizes), gingerbread house building, arts and crafts, indoor games, and Christmas movies. At the end of the festivities, Santa and the elves delivered holiday treat bags to students and faculty, and we awarded the "most festive" awards. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Christmas Celebration a Merry Success! "Celebrating the Birth of Jesus" was the theme of our final chapel in 2024. The text taken from Luke's gospel (1:26 - 2:20) was shared by teachers. Readings alternated with songs sung acapella by the LHS Choir - "O, Come All Ye Faithful", "Christmas Grace" and "Joy to the World." All are invited to Celebrate the Birth of Jesus and we wish everyone a Blessed Christmas! The Lutheran High School choir kicked off the holiday season by spreading Christmas Cheer! Our talented choir, directed by Mr. Scriber, recently performed at the Hotel Monteleone and shared the sounds of the season with hotel guests. After their performance, the Monteleon treated our students to a delicious buffet lunch. Thank you to the Hotel Monteleone for hosting us! We are proud of our students' hard work and beautiful voices. Lutheran High students Bring the Grinch to New Orleans City Park's Celebration in the Oaks12/16/2024
The Grinch was this year's theme for Lutheran High's Celebration in the Oaks tree. Students always enjoy the ornament decorating party! Senior members of the Service Club chose the theme! Decorating day at City Park was one of the nicest in recent years! You can find our tree near the S'mores Roasting pit. "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas ... perhaps ... means a little bit more!" Students were transported to the "Rio Carnivale" at the Lutheran High School Homecoming Dance held at the University of New Orleans! Congratulations to members of our Homecoming Court, which was announced after our Homecoming Volleyball match. After the game, family members escorted members of our Court to receive their royal sashes. At the dance, King Jordan and Queen Deborah received their crowns. All hail our Homecoming Royalty! Thank you to our student leaders and faculty for helping make the night a success! Accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde, our talented National Art Honor Society students showed off their creativity at Lakeside's "Mall-O-Ween" pumpkin decorating contest and trick or treat event on Sunday, October 27th! We're so proud of their artistic skills and school spirit. Thank you, Gryphons, for representing Lutheran High in the community and sharing your creative gifts! Thank you to all of our school families, student ambassadors, faculty, board members, alums, and Gryphon friends who made our Open House a succes! A special shout out to Forged by Fire for the delicious food, and the Kleyle family for the snoball treats! We are blessed with a wonderful Gryphon family After weeks of campaigning and speeches before their peers, the votes are in! Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council Executive Board members and Class Officers! Our student leaders hit the ground running by giving up a Saturday to participate in the LHS Student Council Retreat facilitated by Mrs. Lagarde, Ms. Loughmiller, and Mrs. Hernandez. Using their newly acquired leadership skills, students worked with their class advisors to lead their class meetings as elected officers. Great job, Gryphons! |
