Friday, November 18th, students danced under a "Starry Night" at Lutheran High's Student Council-sponsored Homecoming Dance held at the Kenner City Park Pavilion. We recognized our coaches and student-athletes and presented our court at a school-wide assembly before the dance. Thanks to our student photographers Jaila Kagler and Paris Boucher for helping to capture our Homecoming celebration and dance! All hail our King, Jarmail Perry, and Queen, Jahla Gray! All hail our court: Freshman Duke, Camden Woodard, Freshman Maid, Audria Kleyle. Sophomore Duke Jason Hunter, Sophomore Maid Morgan Worley. Junior Duke, Elisha Parker, Junior Maid Heaven Fazande! Thanks to the Student Council dance decorators, and our excellent faculty chaperones! #dancingGryphons On Tuesday, November 15th, senior students accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde and Mr. Brackvitch learned more about the Renaissance period at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival in Hammond. In addition to cheering on our champion in the joust, learning about crafts such glass blowing, enjoying culinary delights such as the customary turkey leg, and engaging in a sword fight, students were honored by an audience with the queen! #renaissancefestival #royalgryphons On Monday, November 14th, six members of the LHS Cross Country team traveled to Natchitoches, LA for the LHSAA State Cross Country Meet. The runners once again dealt with difficult weather conditions - cold temperatures and rain. These runners represented LHS well in their first trip to the State Meet. The team was accompanied by Coach Scriber and AD Loughmiller. Coach Scriber's parents cheered from the stands and joined the team for a meal after the meet. #lhscrosscountry #geauxgryphons "You're Invited" is this year's theme for the LHS Christmas tree at Celebration in the Oaks in City Park. Members of the Service Club and Ms. Loughmiller enjoyed a beautiful decorating day. All of the ornaments were made by LHS students. Be sure to check out the Christmas sweaters and gingerbread cookies on our tree located behind the Wacky Shack. On Saturday, November 5th the LHS Cross Country team braved the elements and competed in the Regional Cross Country Meet at Ponchatoula High School. Six runners endured pouring rain and a soggy course! In their first year competing as a team, members have shown steady improvement! The final event of the season will be the State Cross Country Meet on Monday, November 14th at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Coach Scriber and A.D. Loughmiller will be accompanying the team! We have been blessed with special Chapel messages recently from Reverend David Lofthus from Faith Lutheran Church and School who shared a message celebrating All Saints Day, and Pastor Andrew Schlund, St. Paul Lutheran Church, for sharing a message of thankfulness with us. We are thankful for the support in our Lutheran community to share God's love with our students! |
