New Year's Blessings to all of our Gryphon family and friends! Cheers to 2024!
On Friday, December 15th, the Lutheran High Choir, directed by Mr. Scriber, graced guests at both the Hotel Monteleone and the Hotel Provincial with sounds of the season. After their performances, choir members walked to Jackson Square for some festive photos. Many thanks to our chaperones, Ms. Loughmiller and Mrs. Lagarde, and the many family members who came to support our choir. Special thanks to the Hotel Monteleone and to the Hotel Provincial for the welcoming hospitality!
Before the Christmas holidays, students in choir and theatre classes presented a musical play, The Nazareth Evening News, to fellow students, faculty, and family. Our students shared the true meaning of Christmas through the lens of a news story. "Reporters" interviewed shepherds, the three kings, angels, and Mary and Joseph as the events of the Nativity story unfolded on "live TV." Throughout the performance, the news anchors introduced the show sponsor, the LHS Choir, who graced the stage with the sounds of the season. The choir is under the direction of Mr. Adrian Scriber, and the cast and crew are under the direction of Mrs. Hope Lagarde. Wonderful job, Gryphons! We are proud of you!
Before Chapel, Ms. Gigi Saak, Chairman of the Mystical Order of the Phoenix Mardi Gras social group, recognized two Lutheran High students as recipients of the 2024 Heather "Heddy" Nichols Memorial Scholarship - "The Spirit of the Phoenix." Congratulations to Malak Hachem and Kimberly Ortiz! They tied for first place, each receiving the grand prize of $1000. Ten LHS students competed in the art competition, creating original art signature "throws" for the Mystical Order of the Phoenix. We are proud of Malak and Kimberly and of all of the talented artists who participated in the scholarship contest!
