In a school-wide assembly on Tuesday, February 28th, students and faculty continued our recognition of Black History Month. We also held our first induction ceremony of the newly registered Lutheran High Chapter of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS). Our celebration began with a performance by the Lutheran High Choir directed by Mr. Scriber, followed by a special poetry reading of the poems " I, Too" by Langston Hughes and "New Day's Lyric" by Amanda Gorman. Five students meeting the core requirements of service, character, leadership, and scholarship in the visual arts were then inducted into the NAHS by LHS Chapter Advisor, Mrs. Lagarde. Principal Hernandez presented new members with their certificates and a NAHS gift. Many thanks to all of our school families for joining us to support our students. Thank you as well to the faculty and students who participated today and shared their creative gifts. Special thanks to Ms. Loughmiller for opening and closing our program with prayer.
