LHS Students Demonstrate their engineering skills at the annual Bridge Breaking demonstation5/9/2024
Lutheran High students engage in learning activities that allow them to problem-solve and apply their knowledge in ways that mirror the real world. Mr. Scriber's Physics and Environmental Science students participated in an annual bridge-breaking demonstration whereby students working alone or in teams competed to see which bridge could withstand the most weight. This year, we had a total of 8 bridges. Each bridge was built with varying degrees in design, structure, and appearance. The winning bridge had the highest efficiency rating of 97. A bridge's efficiency is determined by dividing the load capacity of the bridge by the mass of the bridge. Everyone had a unique bridge, creating a competitive and fun atmosphere of fun and learning. Congratulations, Gryphons! Comments are closed.
